11/4/07
Walter is a 2 1/2 year old Dalmatian mix. I came across Walter on petfinder.
Walter just had that look that said "please help me"... He
was laying on his bed in a cage and he just looked so sad and his eyes
told a very sad story. We found out Walter had been scheduled to be
euthanized on a Thursday..We called on Wednesday. The shelter said they
would hold him. Thank Goodness!! Walter was transfered then to an animal
hospital were it was found he had a skin infection. Walter was on antiobiotics
and was hospitalized until transport could be arranged. The transport
went wonderful and Walter was everybody's sweetheart the whole trip!
From Kentucky to Pennsylvania this boy stole the hearts of every transport
help he met along his journey! Now, Walter is a happy sweet boy just
wanting a home to hang out in! The shelter staff said they thought he
was housebroken because he would let them know he had to potty, and
they were right!! He is also good with cats and other dogs! If you would
like to meet with Walter please give us a call! He'd love to be able
to have his own home for the holidays!
Update 4/3/08:
Sadly, Walter is still looking for someone to love.
Walter is now 3 yrs old and He's been kenneled in a safe, loving environment
for 4 MONTHS but he's getting very depressed and stays curled up on
his bed. He is very loving, loves to run and play and it hurts us to
see him this way!! He needs a foster or permanent HOME as soon as possible.
More about him...
He is not perfect - but neither are we. He is very easy going, loves
people and other dogs. He is goofy, a clown, lovable, playful and very
affectionate. He is housebroken but will mark for the first day. (we
are finding it's not uncommon for males to do this for a SHORT period
of time) He probably has some hound in him. We think it adds to his
charm and his soft, lovable look. If left to his own devices, and there
is a promising weak link in a fence, he will attempt to get out and
take a stroll. We suggest he be in a home where he is leash walked so
he, and his nose, get the stimulation and exercise they need. He will
not hurt a cat intentionally but sees them as an interactive toy. So,
unless you own a 50 pound cat who can even the playing field, we prefer
that he not be in a home with cats.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!! Some one give this boy a chance??
