I was dog walking animals at the Pulaski Shelter in 1998 and one dog in particular reminded me of the dogs we always adopted in my youth... "shaggy mutts from the shelter". I had mourned my Schnauzers death for 2 years and only had one cat at home at the time. I just couldn't leave him. My husband and I picked him up the next day. My baby, a sweet and gentle dog for six years.
