Looking for a new friend? One of the main goals at the Pulaski County Humane Society is the placement of animals in suitable homes. These pets are safe in private foster homes, in our kennels at the shelter, or in our Cat Condo and awaiting adoption!
Interested in one of the animals on this page? Please send a completed Adoption
Application to pchsva@gmail.com. If your application is approved, we ask for
a minimum donation of $85 or $100 for each dog or cat adopted ($85 for cats and large, mixed breed dogs, $100 for puppies
and small or purebred dogs). Your donation is used to help cover the minimum expenditures of preparing pets for adoption.

MIMI |
NEW! Mimi is a darling 10 month old blue heeler/JRT mix. She looks more like a smallish not so stocky blue heeler (aka cattle dog). She isn't a lazy puppy but is doing fantastic with some regular exercise in her foster home. As long as she has a chance to burn off some energy every day, she is very happy to cuddle up on your lap for some serious snuggles. She's currently being crate trained. She also gets along really, really well with other dogs and would love to have a playmate in her forever home. She is a little scared of the outside world, but is making rapid progress in her foster home. Her forever home will need to continue to work on introducing her to all life has to offer.

COOKIE |
NEW! Cookie used to wander the streets, but one day she was hit by a car, which broke her hip and damamged her other hind leg. She was eventually found by some folks who knew her and cared about her very much. These folks took her to the vet and paid for her to have the hip surgery she needed so badly. Now she has a crooked rear end and walks with a limp, but it does not slow her down a bit! Cookie gets along great with her canine foster siblings and romps and plays with them like she's never been injured. She does great with cats - loves to smell them and has never made a move to harm them. She can be a little shy around some adults, but she LOVES children. She even hops around like a bunny when she's excited (like when you come home from work or it's dinner time). Cookie is one of the sweetest, cutest, happiest, and funniest dogs her foster mom has ever met. She's very snuggly, and loves kisses and hugs. She is not food or toy aggressive, doesn't jump on people, and is currently learning some basic obedience commands.

LOUIE |
Louie is a brindle colored American Pit Bull Terrier mix. He's about 2 years old and 60 lbs.
He likes other dogs, walks well on a leash, and is housetrained. He loves his toy kong and
REALLY loves belly rubs. This guy is looking for a good home that can give him the love and attention he
craves!

Carmel takes the saying "reach out and touch someone" to a new level! This sweet "siam" lets you know
that she's ready for some attention. Ignore her soft pat and you're likely to become her target anytime

Fritz is a sealpoint Exotic.
Fritz is approximately 4-5 years old and has an extremely laid
back personality. He is good with dogs, a parrot and other cats, and shouldn't have any problems with
children. Fritz likes to be in the same room that you are in but he doesn't really require a lap - just a comfy
spot to watch household activity is fine. He loves being brushed, uses the litter box without any problems,
and a pinch of catnip occassionally is just perfect. Fritz just had his teeth professionally cleaned.
