Looking for a new friend? One of the main goals at the Pulaski County Humane Society is the placement of animals in suitable homes. These pets are safe in private foster homes, in our kennels at the shelter, or in our Cat Condo and awaiting adoption!
Interested in one of the animals on this page? Please send a completed Adoption
Application to pchsva@gmail.com. If your application is approved, we ask for
a minimum donation of $85 for each dog or cat adopted. Your donation is used to help cover the minimum expenditures
of preparing pets for adoption.

NEW! Bandit is a sweet blue-eyed boy who came to the shelter with a smashed foot and other injuries. Thanks to our local vets, Bandit is back in action with one less toe, and he's too full of love and life to let it get him down! Now this boy is looking for a great home. He's great with cats and older kids (6 years and up).

NEW! Mary Sue is a pretty little black lab. She came to the shelter VERY pregnant, and just had her puppies on March 10th. Momma and all 6 babies will be looking for homes as soon as the little ones are weaned (April), but if you think you might be interested in any of them, please apply now!

Pinky has had a tough time. She came to the shelter with severe hair loss and ear infections
that needed to be treated. Luckily, everything is clearing up nicely and she is looking better every day.
This sweet dog is looking for the loving, peaceful home she deserves! She's great with dogs, cats, and lots of
other animals.

Ariel is a spunky dark patched calico who loves being the center of all your attention. She likes
gentle strokes down her sides and being scratched under her chin. Her favorite toys are stuffed and soft,
and her favorite spot is right on top of whatever you happen to be doing. Ariel gets along well with most
other cats but would prefer to be in a home with no dogs. She would do well with older children. Ariel has
food sensitivities, so needs to be on a special diet, but it is readily available.

Basha is a sweetie. She likes to cuddle, seems to like other cats, and likes to snuggle up in your arms.

 BEAUTY |
Beauty is a sleek and elegant all black kitty. Beauty was brought to the shelter when her
owners found out she was pregnant. She did a great job raising her kittens at the shelter, but now
the nest is empty and she's looking for a wonderful forever home. Beauty has a lot of love to give.
She gets along great with just about every other cat in our condo, and she's very gentle and loves to be held.
Oreo and Beauty have become great friends. We'd love to see them go to a home together!

 DARST |
Darst came to the shelter with gangrene. PCHS took him in for emergency treatment and luckily, he made it out
of the vet's office with the removal of one toe (and some cleanup). Darst doesn't let it get
him down - he still loves lots of pets and attention. After all he's been through, this special guy needs a
great loving home.

well with female cats, but not males.

Oreo is a sweet black and white girl who came to the shelter and raised 7 kittens. All of her kittens
were adopted out a long time ago but Oreo remains at the condo overlooked for no apparent reason. She
just wants a soft bed, a little petting and a few toys for company. She is a lovely cat who came to us
very much undernourished from her kittens and it was only with the help of a volunteer that made sure
she got special feedings that she was able to regain her weight and strength. Oreo is not an old cat
and she would just love to get out of the condo and be waiting by the door for you to get home.
Oreo and Beauty have become great friends. We'd love to see them go to a home together!

 PEARL |
Pearl is a polite, undemanding, and well-mannered little lady who likes big fluffy beds to sleep in and
lots of sunshine streaming through the window. Always checking out the view, Pearl will patiently wait
until you are finished with your chores so you will have lots of time to hold, pet and cuddle her. Since
she is so willing to wait for you to come to her, Pearl will need someone who wants to shower her with
affection and love and won’t forget her. She would do well in a family with other cats.
