PCHS Pets
Pulaski County Humane Society - Dublin, VA
The Pulaski County Humane Society (PCHS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is registered with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in accordance with the Virginia Solicitation of Contributions Law. We have been providing assistance to animals in need since 1979.

The purpose of this organization is to foster the humane treatment of animals.

Our objectives, in accordance with the guidelines of the Virginia Federation of Humane Societies, are to:

Reduce unwanted pets in our Community through education, adoption, and spay / neuter programs.
Develop projects which raise support for spay / neuter and animal veterinary care programs.
Regularly and consistently improve the overall welfare of animals in our Community.

We rely on donations and annual membership dues to fund animal care, education, and assistance programs. The PCHS has a number of regular supporters from the county and surrounding area, but we are in great need of additional volunteers and financial support from other caring people. On average, we receive 85 calls for animal assistance each month. These calls usually are from people who want help for stray, hurt, or ill animals; desire spay/neuter assistance; want to give up their pets; report an abuse case; or want to adopt a pet. We help approximately 50 people each month through our Spay/Neuter outreach programs and animal care services. Without donations from our supporters, more unwanted pets would end up in our county shelter and ill/injured pets would go without care.

Don't forget: walking is not only good for the dogs, but good for YOU! There are all shapes and sizes so you're sure to find a dog that you can manage. If you want to be a dog walker, please contact us. Dogs can be walked any time the Pulaski County Humane Society office is open, M-F 1-5, Sat 10-2, or W for Yappy Hour after 5. There is a short training session required before you can jump in and you must be 16 w/a parent/guardian at all times or 18+. Email or call 674-0089 if you can help!
