- Foster parent must fill out our adoption application so we can obtain appropriate background information.
- Noah's B'ark provides foster homes with food for the foster pet.
- Noah's B'ark provides medical care for the foster pet through OUR rescue veterinary (a list of available veterinary clinics will be provided to foster parent). Expenditures other than emergency care and treatment must be pre-approved by Noah's B'ark.
- Foster parent will bring the foster pet to and from the weekly Saturday adoption fairs, unless other arrangements have been pre-agreed upon. Please arrive by 12pm to drop off your foster pet and arrive by 4pm for pick up.
- Foster pet will not be left off leash in an unfenced area at any time.
- Foster parent will keep the provided collar and tags on their foster pet at all times.
- Foster pet will be kept indoors or in a fenced area on the grounds of the foster home. Additionally the foster pet will sleep indoors.
- The foster parent will take proper care of the foster pet. Including providing pet with adequate food, water, shelter and exercised appropriately. If medical problems arise foster parent will contact Noah's B'ark immediately. For emergency treatment the foster parent will bring the foster pet to an authorized Noah's B'ark's veterinary clinic.
- Foster puppies must not visit public areas other than our adoption center and our veterinary unless they are over than 4 months old and have had their 3 sets of vaccinations. (this is because at this age they are very susceptible to parvo and distemper so we try to limit their possible exposure). Puppies may not visit dog parks or other highly trafficked pedestrian/dog walkways (like The Strand).
- The foster parent will not be compensated for expenses incurred in the normal daily care of the animal.
- Noah's B'ark is not responsible for any events and/or damages that may occur as a result of fostering the pet. (i.e. things like soiled carpets, eaten shoes, and chewed-on furniture are not unusual occurrences).
- The foster pet remains the property of Noah's B'ark. The foster pet will be surrendered to Noah's B'ark immediately upon request.
- The foster pet can not be transferred to another party or location without approval from Noah's B'ark.
- The foster pet is to be adopted to its permanent home ONLY under approval of Noah's B'ark, and our standard adoption policies will apply. Foster parent may refer candidate adopters directly to Noah's B'ark.
- If the foster parent is interested in adopting their foster pet, our standard adoption policies apply, this includes completing an adoption contact as well as paying an adoption fee. This must be completed in a timely manner.
Please note because fostering is a short term situation the criteria for fostering is less stringent than for adoption, qualifying as foster parent does necessarily equate to qualification for adoption.
