Destiny's Story

Destiny
As seen on Channel 9 News, Dog Needs Loving Home

At 10pm Friday night, May 19, 2000 Sally Hampton was stopped at a light and witnessed a young, female, Golden Lab, Shepherd mix that she has named "Destiny, dashing across the street. Destiny was hit very hard by 2 cars that continued speeding on without stopping. Destiny was yelping in pain but unable to move. Sally jumped out of her car and waved the traffic to stop. People honked and were upset because they were forced to stop while Sally lifted Destiny into her car. With her cell phone, Sally began calling vets who would help her.

After finding a vet, Sally was amazed to learn that Destiny was not going to die, as she feared. In fact, she was told that with surgery to repair to her hip from the severe blow from the car she would be as good as new. Channel 9 News covered the story and the response from viewers was incredible. With the help of Noah's Bark, donations from viewers paid for Destiny's hip surgery and she is expected to recover fully.

Destiny is approximately one to two years old. She has been through a lot but has an amazingly sweet, gentle disposition. She needs a lot of love and someone who can be patient with her while she adjusts and learns to trust someone who will not abandon her. She does not seem to do well with cats, however, and would most likely do best in a home with no cats.

If you are looking for a dog as a companion and can provide her with a lot of love and attention, please contact us to find out how you can adopt this beautiful dog.
