Bralie's Story

Bralie

Bralie story is one that you might call a real turn of fate. She was at a very high kill shelter and bailed out by Noah's Bark in late July 1999. Bralie was an older German Shephard mix who was blind... the poor gal did not have much chance of getting adopted from the shelter. Our big hearted leader of Noah's Bark, Lila Hemenway decided she would spring her and give her a second chance at life.

As the months moved on it sure looked like Bralie was bound to be a permanent resident of Noah's Bark. For as sweet as she was, there simply is not much adoption demand for an aging blind shepherd mix. About three and half months after coming into our rescue... on October 16, 1999 Noah's Bark appeared at the spur of the moment at a street fair enagement with some of the available dogs including Bralie. There a little boy came up and said Bralie looked just like a dog they used to have. His father then came over and claimed "that's our Tuesday"... Bralie went wild with excitement at the reunion. Apparently Bralie (aka Tuesday) had gotten spooked on the 4th of July and bolted, the family had looked at many shelters but overlooked the one we found her at. They did show us pictures so we could confirm that Bralie indeed was there dog.

We are very happy that Bralie is home again... and all we certainly think it was fate that helped bring this gal back to her family.... this truly was a happy ending.

Like most stories though there are some lessons to be learned... please keep your dogs id tagged as it is their voice back home if they ever get lost, please take special precautions with your pets during the holidays especially 4th of July and if your dog ever does get out be sure and check all your neighboring shelters as your dog might not get as lucky as Bralie!
