Mr. BoJangles' Story

Meet Mr. BoJanges, a six+ year old Cocker Spaniel. His owner showed up at our adoption center a couple of weeks before Christmas, partically in tears saying she must find him a home within a week because she was moving. We explained she could show him but would have to assist us by fostering him as we did not have any available foster homes. Then while we were still setting up for our adoptions, she slipped Mr. BoJangles into a pen, then took off leaving no information about her dog or any contact information on herself. Mr. BoJangles had been abandon. As he sat in his cage it seemed so sad as if that he knew his owner was not coming back and was mourning for her. As we started examining him we notice that he had caracters so bad that he was nearly blind, his hearing was also not quite so keen. Poor little blind fellow, alone and confused.

With no foster homes... Mr. BoJangles went to a boarding facility not a fun place to spend Christmas. Just by chance a kind lady read his story on our webpage and wanted to meet him. One meeting with Mr. B and he had stolen her heart, he was adopted almost immediately. Yes, Mr. BoJangles was going to wonderful home for the holidays! Not only had he found a new loving home, but very shortly he will be having surgery to remove his caracters (a very costly procedure)... we hope that his sight will be restored to as close to normal as possible.

What started off as a sad Christmas for Mr. BoJangles ended up being having heartwarming ending.

While we are very pleased with that Mr. BoJangles has such a wonderful new home certainly better than his last one, to his former owner... we say shame on you for abandoning your boy like that especially during the holidays!! And to other owners who know they have to relinquish their animals for whatever reason... a reminder, please start looking for a new home as soon as you know that you can not keep your dog. Don't wait til the last minute when the shelter maybe turn out to be your only option.
