Brody

Brody - Five year old, Male Boxer-Pit Mix. Less than three months ago Brody had a very different life than the one he has now. Poor Brody was filthy, skinny and had two tumors on his body. Then on top of it all someone dumped him...they tied him to a garage and left him. Luckily for him it was the garage of a Noah's B'ark volunteer. From that moment on he has had the life he should have had all along. He is clean and has had the ugly tumors removed and he is now eating meals regularly and putting on weight.

Brody is an exceptional dog. He is about 5-6 years old~he gets along with other dogs and pretty much ignores cats. We don't think he received much attention before now since he just eats up the smallest amount of attention. You can pat him with your baby finger and you have made him the happiest dog in the world!! He is just a big cuddle-bug! More than anything else in the whole world Brody would love a family to call his own~are you that family?? Brody weighs about 70 pounds.

Calvin

Calvin - male terrier/lab mix DOB 2/26/06 - The last of Mindy's pups (see Mindy below). Extremely smart, playful, and loyal pup waiting to find his forever home. Calvin is a rough and tumble kind of guy so not reccommended to a family with small children. Calvin would be great for an active person or family. Not sure how big he may get but could be up to 50-60lbs. May also be seen by appointment.

Gordo and Coconut

Gordo and Coconut - Meet Gordo(left) and Coconut(right), brothers to Guava, Pineapple and Mango. These guys are extremely sweet, smart and have the good looks to match! They are being crate trained and will whine to let you know they want out to do their business! We have know idea what breed these guys really are, we see quite a few different breeds from the entire litter. We may even see a little Boxer in there also! How adorable are these babies? They were abandoned at a very high kill shelter. We have no idea on what size these guys will be but our best quess would be around 40-60 pounds. They will be ready for adoption after the beginning of June.

Guava

Guava - Sister to Gordo and Coconut. These sweet little babies went from being happy and content with their Momma, to a cold steel cage awaiting euthanasia at a very high kill shelter when they were only three weeks old and their mom was no where to be found. Unweaned pups never have a chance at a shelter. Luckily Noah's B'ark was there to save these little guys. They are now in foster homes where they are being bottle fed, loved and socialized. We have no idea on what size these guys will be but our best guess would be around 40-60 pounds. They will be ready for adoption June 10th.

Mango

Mango - Sister to Gordo and Coconut.

Petunia Puckerface

Petunia Puckerface - 7 week old Petunia and her littermates were born in a high-kill shelter and spent their first 7 weeks there. It is unusual for the shelter to keep them for so long but they are so adorable they gave them extra time. They were so happy to be out in the fresh air and rolling in the grass for the first time in their lives. Petunia is so small she doesn~t even look like she is from the same litter. She reminds us of a Sheba Inu. Petunia is one of the sweetest puppies her foster Mom has ever fostered! She wants to sit in your lap all day and cuddle, she is amazing!

Pineapple

Pineapple - Sister to Gordo and Coconut.

Rollo

Rollo - 7 week old Rollo and his littermates were born in a high-kill shelter and spent their first 7 weeks there. It is unusual for the shelter to keep them for so long but they are so adorable they gave them extra time. They were so happy to be out in the fresh air and rolling in the grass for the first time in their lives. Rollo has a cute little stubby tail, beautiful eyes and the color of a Weimaraner, he is a very independent and active puppy.

Tater Tot

Tater Tot - 7 week old Tater Tot and her littermates were born in a high-kill shelter and spent their first 7 weeks there. It is unusual for the shelter to keep them for so long but they are so adorable they gave them extra time. They were so happy to be out in the fresh air and rolling in the grass for the first time in their lives. Tater Tot is fat, short, and stubby, and resembles a Tator Tot! She loves to be held and is an excellent cuddler!

Humpfry

Humpfry - One year old Border Collie. Humpfry was dodging cars, out on the street, un-neutered, when he was spotted by a family who stopped the car to catch him. Luckily for Humpfry he jumped in the car and was saved. Humpfry is an all around sweet guy, loves kids and other dogs. Has not been cat tested but seems to ignore them on walks. Humpfry is crate trained, leash trained, and knows basic commands in both english and spanish. Ideal home would be with a family. Humpfry weighs around 45 pounds.

Oreo

Oreo - Six Month old, male "Docker" Dachshund-Cocker mix. Does it get any cuter than Oreo? He is a a show stopper with his looks, silky long fur, short stumpy legs, and a big fat head to top it off. Oreo was found wandering the railroad tracks, lucky for him a nice family picked him up. We really are not sure of the breed, he might have a bit of Basset in there too with those legs, who knows?

Vinchi Vinchi - 4-year-old male king Charles Spaniell/doxie mix. Vinchi is a good looking and very sweet guy who has the body of a spaniel but the face and markings of a longhaired daschund. We suspect he didn~t have the greatest life before he was rescued. He is a bit reserved and shy when he meets new people but is quickly won over with genuine affection. He just needs someone to understand his needs and be patient with him. If you are capable of this you will truly be rewarded. He is extrememly loyal and loving. He is ok with other dogs but prefers smaller ones. He is ok with cats~but he does like to chase them. He is very sweet and gentle with children. He walks well on leash and is a very good in the car. He is also housebroken. He will need a home with a fence 6 foot or taller because he will jump over anything smaller. Vinchi is a great dog for just about any situation as long as you understand his personality. He is pretty low maintenance~you do not have to keep him entertained all day long. He is quite content to sleep at your feet and look up adoringly at you every so often. Vinchi is truly a diamond in the rough!
Mindy
Sponsored
by Carla and Scott
Mindy - 1 year old female Terrier mix. Mindy we rescued by one of our volunteers after finding her in abandon in the park and very pregnant. Mindy gave birth to seven pups a week later on 2/26/2006. Six pups survived... 3 males and 3 females. We don't know what the father was. Mindy and her pups are now available and will be shown starting 4/22/2006. Mindy is approximately 30 pounds. We can not tell how big her pups may be.
See Mindy with her Pups.

Any donations to help with the expenses of Momma and pups would be appreciated... the spay/neuter cost alone will be over $400.

Stitch Stitch - 2 year old female purebred Rottweiler. Stitch was rescued from a local animal shelter by a very loving, devoted family, but unfortunately, Stitch is just not getting along with their dog and needs to find another home as an only dog. Stitch has proven to be a great dog, very accepting of her owners in the "alpha" role, eager to please, and with a great, low-key personality. She is exceptionally intelligent, making her unusually easy to train. She doesn’t even seem to work for treats so much as approval. So far, she’s proven very gentle around people in general (including kids, though we have not had her around infants/toddlers) and while she’s happiest around her owners, she isn't one of those annoying dogs who is always underfoot. She is house trained and quickly learns boundaries where she is allowed to go -- or not. She also walks very gently on a leash and is generally not aggressive to other dogs when on walks. Stitch's aggression toward other large or dominant dogs on what she perceives to be her "turf" indicates she would be best as an "only" dog. Stitch would make a wonderful companion and we would have no hesitation recommending her to family as their only dog. Her sweet, loving disposition towards people wins you over very quickly. Stitch is approximately 70 pounds. Stitch is shown by private appointment only.
RoxyRoxy - 2 year old female Staffordshire Terrier mix. Roxy had gotten out of her yard because the gardener left a gate unlatched. Roxy was taken the North Central Shelter and her owners were contacted (she was wearing tags) and they said they would come get her. Roxy spent over a month at N.Central waiting for her family to come get her and they never did. Finally she was put on the euthanasia list, so we bailed her out and saved her life. Roxy is a VERY sweet and happy dog. She is incredibly gentle and loving and is happiest when getting her chest rubbed. She is a great family dog and is very well-mannered and easy going. She is housetrained and crate trained - AND Roxy is obedience trained. She knows "sit", "down", "stay" and "come" and is one of the most obedient and well behaved dogs that we have ever fostered. Roxy is good with most dogs (not all) and would do best in a home either as an only-dog or as a friend for a non-alpha dog that will play with her. Currently her foster family has another bully dog and Roxy LOVES to run and play with him, and we have discovered she loves to go on hikes and go running too! Roxy is also cat-safe and excellent with children (her previous family had small children). We prefer that Roxy go to a home that has experience with the bully breeds. Roxy weighs approximately 70 pounds. Shown by appointment only.
Holly Holly - 3 year old female American Staffordshire Terrier mix. Bailed out of the shelter the week before Christmas because she was "on the list to be euthanized" because she was very pregnant and the shelter didn't have room for her and her puppies. She gave birth on Christmas eve to Frankie and Murray and now she needs her own home. She is VERY sweet and loving and is good with other dogs with the proper introduction - even small ones. She is "okay" with cats that aren't afraid of her. She does need some basic obedience - we don't think she got much attention in the past. She is 100% crate trained. She is also WONDERFUL with children. Holly weighs approximately 55 pounds. Holly will be available for adoption in February. Shown by appointment only.

Colin Colin - 3 year old male Rottie / Shepherd mix. Colin was rescued from a local shelter. He is a wonderful, playful boy who loves chasing tennis balls. He gets along well with most dogs, but would prefer to be an "only dog" in your home. He's cuddly and sweet and energetic. An all adult home or a home with older children would be ideal for Colin. Colin is approximately 60 pounds.
Penn Penn - 2 year old male Canaan mix. Penn and Teller (below) are brothers. These gorgeous, sweet boys were abandoned at a local high kill shelter by their owner. They are timid with strangers at first but have no tendency to bite. When they get to know you, they are wildly enthusiastic and jump around licking your face! Penn and Teller have been very well socialized with other dogs. They live in a foster home with other dogs and they are in doggie day care in Manhattan Beach every day. Both these boys are housebroken, ride well in the car, and have had some obedience training. Adult only home. Penn is approximately 38 pounds. Shown by appointment daily in Manhattan Beach.
Teller Teller - 2 year old male Canaan mix. Penn (above) and Teller are brothers.
