FUNDRAISERS:
The Rummage Sale held at Sue's house on August 31 and
September 1 was very successful, but if we have this sale
again next year, we will probably limit it to one day
only
Bazaars - Our first
bazaar for the fall season was October 5. - Here are the
dates of our bazaars: K of C Hall, Auburn - October 16;
St. James School - October 26; Washington School - November
9; and St. Stan's School - November 16.
"The
Big House" - Two of our supporters, Dick and Jim, are
working with Mary, owner of "The Big House" Sports Bar
on Midland Street, to put together a fundraiser for KBAF
on February 16, 2003, Sunday, starting at 2:00 p.m. We
have had some preliminary meetings and everyone is working
hard to make this a successful fundraiser. We plan on
having some KBAF T-shirts available at the fundraiser
as well as many items available for sale and door prizes.
Enclosed
is a flyer which tells about the fundraiser. There will
be more information and another flyer in the next rescue
letter.
A
New Form:
Also enclosed is a copy of a new form which we will have
available at our fundraisers in the future. Many people
have asked how they can make a donation in honor or memory
of a person or pet and the new form has all the information.
Website:
Sherri designed a Website page for KBAF. If you would
like to see our rescue letter, memorial section, rescue
stories and other animal information, go to: www.dogsaver.org/kbaf/mission/mission.htm
If you would like a photo of a special pet placed on the
memorial site, please send a photo and a short story about
your pet, and Sherri will put the picture and story in
the Memorial Section. Or if you have an animal rescue
story you would like placed in the Rescue Section, please
send picture and short story to our address. Thanks, Sherri.
WISH
LIST
- We are still looking for (1) Red
Wing Hockey fabric or a source where we can
purchase it. We would use this fabric for doggie bandannas
and little Doggie Dollys; (2) Jewelry
- old, new, used, broken, etc. for stick pins
and other crafts; (3) Figurines
and knickknacks; (4) Even though we received
several bags of stuffing, we can still use more as the
stuffing is used for dog bone toys (both sizes) and doggie
dollies. Would like the old style Venetian
blinds with the wide slats so we can cut up
to make plant markers. Thanks to everyone that made donations
and helped to give a homeless animal a chance to have
a good life.
Trudy Kane, Secretary
