The Humane Society of Saline County is proud to announce a new
program: The Youth Auxiliary.
The Youth Auxiliary is comprised of kids ages 12- to 18-years of age
who are interested in volunteering their time at the shelter and
shelter sponsored events. Some of the activities include socializing
("playing with") the puppies and kittens, walking and grooming the
dogs, and providing light duty assistance to the staff. Not only do
the animals benefit from the contact with the kids, the kids learn
what is involved with caring for a pet and have a great time doing
it. Anyone who is between the ages of 12 and 18 interested in
volunteering must complete the
application and
their parents must
complete and sign the provided release of liability form. You may
turn the form in at the shelter, by mailing it to our PO Box
(address below), or contact
us if you have
more
questions.
