Below are some of HOPE's rescued dogs who are waiting for their "forever homes" and families who will give them the love they so deserve.  All of our dogs have been given their original vaccinations, are on heartworm preventive, and are neutered or spayed, unless otherwise noted.  HOPE requires that all adoptive homes have fenced-in back yards.  A $55 adoption fee is required for each animal, and pre-adoption home checks, adoption applications, and adoption contracts are necessary for each dog.  If you fall in love with one of our dogs but are unable to take him or her into your home, please consider sponsorship.  Please click on the thumbnails to view larger pictures.

Name:  Angel
Age:
4 years
Gender/Breed:
female Golden Retriever/Sheltie mix
Bio:
"I need a human angel of my very own to help me not to be so afraid.  I was adopted and so happy to be an only dog with someone to talk to all day long.  Unfortunately, my new mom couldn't keep me forever like my foster mom and I thought she would.  It's not so bad to be back at my foster mom's place, but there are way too many dogs here for me to get the one-on-one attention I need so I can learn to trust people.  I really am a sweet girl who likes to sit by my human and watch her read or watch TV.  I just love a good ear scratch or tummy rub and an occasional pillow tug-of-war.  I'm housetrained and walk pretty well on a leash, though I tend to duck when I hear loud noises.  Want a 'special' companion to love and nurture?  Please call 985-580-0546."

"Auggie's my name, and finding my forever home is my game!  I am one determined pup--my rescuer found me sitting in the middle of a back road where I'd been abandoned.  She said I wouldn't budge until she called me over.  My humans say I'm 20 pounds of frolicking fun, as puppies go, but I'm also eager to learn and become your best friend.  Am I the precious guy you've been looking for?  Please call 985-447-9454 or 985-446-8962."

"I'm such a sweet girl with a loving personality.  Some of my favorite pastimes include playing tug-o-way with my sister and games of fetch with my foster mom.  My foster mom says I must have retriever somewhere in my family genes because I play endlessly and LOVE playing in my kiddie wading pool.  I'm currently being fostered with cats and dogs of all sizes, and Mom says I sit on command, walk well on a leash, and am crate-trained.  Are you the owner I'm longing for?  Please fill out an adoption application and email it to meacat at mobiletel dot com."

"I found my rescuer at the intersection of two busy highways.  I'm so glad she helped me, despite my looks at the time--I had a terrible skin condition and heartworms, so I wasn't the most attractive guy.  Since then, HOPE has taken excellent care of me, and now I'm as handsome and healthy as any of the New Orleans Saints' defensive ends!  I've recently completed Canine Etiquette classes and was told I'm a quick learner and a good listener!  I have a wonderful personality and just love everyone I meet.  My foster humans say I'm game for road trips anywhere!  Want more information?  Please call 985-447-9454."

Bio:
"We've been together since we were pups and have been badly neglected for the past 5 years.  When we were rescued, we were in desperate need of some TLC and human affection.  Now, we're healthy, happy, and looking for a family that can love us both--we simply cannot be separated.  We're very friendly and well-behaved, and although we're a bit older, we've sure got spunk!  We love to take walks any time of day and do better around adults and older teens since we didn't grow up around young children.  Is yours the family that can love us forever?  Please call 337-344-3718."

Bio:
"Sadly, my owner was moving, and she would only take her fancy, inside dog with her, so I was taken in to live with some new buddies at HOPE's kennel.  This place is really nice, and I've made some great friends, but the girls have way too much attitude for a medium-sized guy like me.  I sure would like a family of my very own.  How about yours?  Want to discuss new living arrangements?  Please call 985-447-9454."

Name:  Buddy Boy
Age:

Gender/Breed:

Bio:
"I'm a calm but active boy.  I love to be around cats and other dogs, plus I'm great around children!  My kennel humans say I enjoy just laying around, but I'm also super quick when it's time to play.  I am quite fond of the outdoors and must have a fenced-in yard in which to run around.  Can't wait to hold me?  Please call 985-447-9454."

"I'm an adorable little guy looking for love!  When my rescuer found me, it was clear I had been abused.  Though it took a while for me to trust people again, I now wag my tail whenever I see my caregivers.  I like to be petted and get lots of attention, but I'd do best in a home with adults who will be gentle and understanding with me.  Want more scoop?  Please call 985-447-9454."

"
I love being inside, and am perfectly housetrained.  I know sit, stay, down, no, come and back and also to stay off of the furniture. I am very careful never to knock anything over -- even the little sparkly things on the coffee table.  I love to lay with my paws crossed and watch TV -- especially if there is a human for me to be next to.  My favorite thing in the world is a back scratch, accompanied by a big hug and some play.  I shed very little, and I will sit for a brushing because I really like the attention.  Even bath time is fun for me because it is more time with my human.  I haven't met a dog I didn't like, and if you have an older guy or girl that needs a companion, I'm the one, because I always respect my elders.  Do we match?  Please call 985-580-0546 or 985-223-9265."

"My caregivers say I'm a sweet, pretty girl who is on the smaller side -- a little Lab, as some would call me.  I'm active and love to play, but I'll need obedience training so I can learn to play nicely.  I'm also neat about my kennel, so housetraining should be a breeze.  I love both people and other dogs, so it doesn't matter to me if I'm your only pet or one of two (or three, or four...).  Can we meet over a bone?  Please call 985-447-9454."
