"Ending cruelty, Giving hope"

EMERGENT!

HOPE is in urgent need of temporary homes for our kennel dogs due to Hurricane Gustav from Sunday to Wednesday.  HOPE will provide crates for the dogs.  Volunteers must have experience with dogs and a fenced-in yard.  If you can help, please call 985-447-9454.

Dog Day Afternoon Raffle Tickets are here!  We've got lots of great prizes for this year's dog show!  To buy your tickets, please call 985-447-3821.  As always, thank you for your support!

URGENT!

"Cosmos," a beautiful, short-haired male tuxedo, is in urgent need of a loving, indoor-only home.  He is healthy, vet-treated, and enjoys treats on Sundays and scratches on his head.  Owner is unable to care for him due to unexpected health problems.  For more information, or to offer to foster or adopt, please call 985-448-3224.

Happy Endings for Percy!

Congratulations to our sweet Percy, now called "Cowboy," who's found his loving forever family!  Volunteers send hugs, kisses, and well-wishes to Cowboy and the Pitre family--thank you for giving him the second chance he so deserves!

Check out HOPE's new YouTube video, complete with information about our group, pictures of animals up for adoption, fundraising events, and, our favorite, happy endings!  Thank you for your unending support!

URGENT!

"Benny," a precious Boston Terrier mix currently under the care of Ascension Animal Advocates, was badly burned by either chemicals or hot liquids.  This rescue organization is currently accepting donations for his medical expenses.  The veterinarian says Benny will be ready for adoption in approximately two weeks.  He is altered and up-to-date on vaccinations, but will probably never have hair where he was burned.  He's house-trained, very playful, and is good with kids.  To help with Benny's medical bills, or if you're interested in adopting him, please call 225-315-3438, or send a check to P.O. Box 1829, Prairieville, LA, 70769.  Please make checks out to Ascension Animal Advocates with "Benny" in the memo section.

HOPE sends a big "Thank you!" to all who participated in this year's Bone Appétit, which was HOPE's most successful benefit dinner yet!  With your help, our organization is able to save the lives of more needy, deserving cats and dogs!

Gracie's Fund

UPDATE:
Gracie has undergone hip surgery and is recuperating in a loving HOPE for Animals foster home.  Although she still has some occasional discomfort, she is moving around very nicely now, and the veterinarian feels she has a very good prognosis.  Thank you for your prayers and support of this sweet girl!  Her medical costs have been covered by your generous donations!  Gracie will be ready for adoption soon, so if you are interested in making this sweet, loving girl the newest addition to your family, please check out our adoption page

"Tux," an adorable, loving male kitten thrown from the back of a truck in Houma, needs a wonderful home.  This little guy is very playful and affectionate.  For more information, please call 985-868-0942 or 985-791-8546.

ATTENTION CARTRIDGE COLLECTORS!

We need your help!  We're getting a LOT of laser printer cartridges (large cartridges) that have been refilled, and we cannot use them.  Disposal is becoming a problem.  HOPE gets the most money for Brothers, Canon, Hewlett Packard (HP), and Lexmark brands.  Please call Vicki at 985-447-3821 if you have any questions.  Thank you for your continuing support of this program.

Don't be a "throw-away" pet owner!  Consider the sacrifices before adopting!

"Free to good home" too often means a death sentence.

Are you a New Orleans resident still looking for your beloved four-legged friend after Hurricane Katrina?  Please check out the inventory pictures taken from the Lamar Dixon site, which took in thousands of animals from the New Orleans area.

NOTICE

Don't throw your ink jet and laser printer cartridges away!  HOPE can use them to make "Cash for Critters"!  Old cell phones are also now being accepted!  (Note:  Epson printer cartridges are not accepted.)  For more information, or to have yours picked up, please call 985-447-3103.
