Olivia the Miracle Cat

Dear Friends,

A very nice couple adopted Olivia from us but unfortunately, they were not aware of what needed to be done when adopting an adult cat.

Three year old Olivia did not eat when she was placed in her new home.  Her new parents did not notice she was not eating until she had become extremely thin.  She came back to Help the Animals weighing under four pounds.

From not eating, Olivia had developed Fatty Liver Syndrome which can be fatal.  She had an Ultrasound to diagnose what was wrong and a nasal feeding tube was inserted through her nose leading down to her stomach.  It was a miracle she survived.  Finally, she gained her weight back.

The lesson to be learned is when adopting an adult cat, do not assume he or she will eat.  If they do not eat, they must be seen by a Veternarian.

Today Olivia is healthy and ready for a new home.  Do you not agree that she's a beautiful cat?  She's quite talkative, too.  I hope she finds a new home soon.
