Adoption Procedure

The first step is to visit one of our Saturday adoptions, discuss your interests and pick the dog that you want to adopt. Then:

  1. Fill out an application.  Applications are accepted for all dogs on the days of our adoptions.
  2. Your application will be reviewed with you at the site.
  3. We will notify you as soon as possible thereafter, usually that afternoon, if the dog will or will not be placed with you.*
  4. The dog will be delivered to your home by an FTA volunteer at a mutually convenient time. Often, the same day.
  5. To complete the adoption process, at the time of delivery, For The Animals Foundation requires:

A walk-through of your yard and residence to help identify hidden or potential dangers that may effect the safety or welfare of your prospective new pet .

Your signature on a binding adoption agreement with For The Animals Foundation.

A tax deductible donation.**

* All dogs are owned solely by For The Animals Foundation. The decision to place or not to place a dog is at the sole discretion of For The Animals Foundation.
